Sons of the Plague God
“Nothing Can Stop the Plague”
Betrayed at Istvaan III and gifted with the Grandfather's blessing, the Death Guard no longer fear pain, wound or plague — they embrace it as gift and armour alike. Their bodies are bloated with contagion, their armour rusted and weeping, yet still they march, tireless and immune to the terrors that would break lesser men. Led by the immortal Mortarion, they besiege whole worlds for centuries, seeding rot into soil and soul until nothing remains but a garden of decay. To fight the Death Guard is to fight despair itself: no wound troubles them for long, and no retreat is ever truly an escape.
Army Rule
Each time a friendly DEATH GUARD unit is selected to shoot or fight, until the end of the phase, subtract 1 from the Toughness characteristic of enemy units within Engagement Range of that unit, and enemy units cannot fire Overwatch against them.
Most DEATH GUARD models have the FEEL NO PAIN 5+ ability, representing their unnatural resistance to damage and disease.

Warped and Rusted Animus
For all their slow degeneration, many of the Death Guard's war machines are augmented with a fevered and inexorable urgency that brings their corrupted weapons to bear upon the foe all too quickly. - Friendly FOETID BLOAT-DRONE/FOETID BLOAT-DRONE WITH HEAVY BLIGHT LAUNCHER/HELBRUTE/MYPHITIC BLIGHT-HAULER units have CONTAGION ENGINE. - Friendly CONTAGION ENGINE units' ranged attacks have [ASSAULT]. This detachment has the ENGINES tag and cannot be taken with another ENGINES detachment.
The diseased suffering inflicted by this war machine establishes an empyric barb in its victims through which it feasts, its bloated form pulsing with new growth after every attack. CONTAGION ENGINE unit only. When this unit has fought, one model in this unit heals D3 wounds.
Proximity to this infected mass destabilises reality, with even fortress walls bubbling and rupturing in its presence until a bubo-riddled sore forms, which it pierces like a monstrous, rusted lancet. Friendly HELBRUTE/MYPHITIC BLIGHT-HAULER unit only. This unit has MOBILE.
Verminous Haze
A cloud of winged insects descends over Mortarion's pathogenic sons, obscuring their malodorous ranks and shielding them from the eyes and augurs of the enemy. Beneath thrumming storms of fat-bodied flies, Plague Marines stride towards their wavering foes until they are close enough to unleash punishing volleys of killing fire. In the Declare Battle Formations step, you can select up to two friendly PLAGUE MARINES units. Those units have Infiltrators. This detachment has the FLYBLOWN tag and cannot be taken with another FLYBLOWN detachment.
The buzzing swarms respond to the will of Nurgle's disciples, sweeping down upon their chosen target, their crawling, biting and droning enfeebling the horrified foe. PLAGUE MARINES unit only. When this unit's attacks target a unit within Contagion Range of a friendly unit, those attacks can re-roll wound rolls of 1.
Nurgle's blessings manifest as a buzzing clot of darkness that falls over these diseased pilgrims, enveloping them like an enshrouding fog. PLAGUE MARINES unit only. This unit has -3" detection range.
Hypervirulent Strains
The rancid champions of the Death Guard are blessed with the most virulent contagions of Nurgle, supernatural strains that radiate towards unwilling hosts in floods of foulness. Friendly DEATH GUARD CHARACTER units have +3" to their Contagion Range (to a maximum of 12").
With a hacking prayer to Nurgle, this warrior can call upon a swarm of plague mites. Buzzing clumps of diseased flies and writhing waves of squirming things settle upon the bloated forms of the Death Guard and vomit streams of rejuvenating contagion into festering wounds. DEATH GUARD INFANTRY model only (excluding TERMINATOR models). Attacks that target this unit with a S greater than this unit's T have -1 to wound rolls.
One plague is never enough for this champion, and their repulsive form is a vessel for a mutated and semisentient disease capable of manifesting in varied contagious forms. DEATH GUARD INFANTRY model only. (Once per battle, per army) In your Command phase, you can use this ability. If you do, select one of the Plagues listed in Nurgle's Gift (see Codex: Death Guard ). Enemy units within Contagion Range of this unit also have the effect of that Plague in addition to your army's chosen Plague until the end of the battle.

Rules digest
Our own plain-speech digest of how this force's rules hang together — army rule, detachment choice, command-point economy and roster shape. Written by us, not reproduced from the pack; the official PDF is the only authority on exact wording.
Read the official pack PDFEvery list in this force answers to Cloying Blight, so plan your turns around it rather than treating it as a bonus. A second layer — Disgustingly Resilient — lets you tilt the same roster toward a different way of fighting before the first dice are rolled. Exact wording lives in the official pack PDF; the summary here is ours.
You commit to one of 3 detachments (Contagion Engines, Flyblown Host, Paragons of Putrescence), and that choice locks in both your detachment rule and the 6 enhancements available to your characters. Pick the detachment that matches the units you already own, then buy enhancements last.
There are 9 stratagems on offer, costing between 1 and 1 CP. In a normal game you will bank enough for two or three interventions a turn at most, so decide before deployment which one or two plays you are saving command points for.
The roster runs to 32 datasheets. The cheapest entry comes in at 50 points and the most expensive at 375, so a single flagship choice can eat a fifth of a 2,000-point army. Use the list builder to keep the Rule of Three, character limits and your points ceiling honest as you add units.
